Find the bus stop for your chosen bus service via the flag at the top of the bus stop. When you see your bus approaching, signal to the driver that you wish to board by extending your hand.
Pay For Your Travel
There are different ways to pay for your travel: Contactless, pre-purchased tickets using our app, season ticket Ridacards or cash (exact fare only).
Indicate Your Stop
As you approach your destination, please make sure you press the stop button to let the driver know in plenty of time that you wish to disembark.
Planning your journey
This is easy when you use our online Journey Planner. Key in details of where you’re staying and your destination and we’ll tell you the best bus options and times. If you don’t know the postcode, don’t worry; the street or place name is usually enough.
Bus route maps and timetables can be downloaded online or you can pick them up at one of our TravelHubs.
Also, we recommend that you download our app; it provides real-time information on bus departure times and live service updates. You can buy your bus tickets in advance by loading m-tickets to your phone – this will save you the trouble of finding coins for your fare.
The most convenient way to pay for your travel on our services is to use our capped contactless payment scheme, TapTapCap – let us work out the cheapest adult daily or weekly fare for you! Just tap your contactless card or device when you get on one of our buses (there’s no need to tap again when you get off the bus). Use the same card or device all day or all week to automatically benefit from daily or weekly capping (Mon-Sun). Your card or device is your ticket, so one per person.
If paying by cash, make sure you have coins with you before getting on the bus. You will need to have the exact money as our drivers cannot give you change.
Our Most Popular Tickets (Valid in zones A & B.)
Adult Single
£2.20
Adult DAYticket
£5.50
Please keep your ticket for the duration of your journey. If you buy a DAYticket, remember to show it to the driver each time you board the bus.
